Cara Vickers-Kane was born in Portland, Oregon in 1978. She grew up for equal amounts of time in Oregon, New Jersey, and Ohio.
Cara received a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies from The Ohio State University in 2000 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Wright State University in 2003. In 2005 she graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Connecticut. Since then, she has exhibited her art in Sophia, Bulgaria; Mesa, Arizona; Boston, New York, and numerous other regional New England venues.
She is represented by Pierogi Gallery in Brooklyn, New York; the Boston Drawing Project of Carroll and Sons Gallery, and also Flatfile of Art Space in New Haven, Connecticut. Additionally, she has work at Howard Yezerski Gallery in Boston. Vickers-Kane is the recipient of a 2012 Artist Fellowship from the Connecticut Office of the Arts.
Vickers-Kane currently resides in Virginia.
